Homebuilder Century Communities is moving ahead with two new residential developments in Nassau County, following the sellout of its Concourse Crossing community in Fernandina Beach earlier this year, according to a recent release from the company.
Century recently closed on its second self-developed community in the county: Hidden Lake, a planned 275-unit community near the Amelia Walk community in Fernandina Beach, with 80-foot-wide lots and resort-style amenities. Andrea Johansson, the company’s vice president of land acquisition, said in the release that the acquisition reflects confidence in the local housing market.
“We’re very excited to be able to have secured this acquisition, and we are looking at other potentials in the area,” Johansson said.
The company is also developing Mills Bridge, a 144-home community with 40- and 50-foot-wide lots, with sales projected to begin in the first quarter of 2027, the release said.
Both projects follow the sellout of Concourse Crossing, a 247-unit community in Fernandina Beach that sold its last home in the first quarter of 2026.
Johansson said Nassau County, alongside neighboring St. Johns County, remains attractive to the company because local demand continues to outpace available housing supply.
“When supply is low in areas and they’re places people want to be, the fundamentals of home building bode really well,” she said.
The release also noted the company is expanding in Clay County, where it recently closed on two phases of the Robinson Ranch development, acquired from American Homes 4 Rent, and has a 170-home community, Asbury Creek, set for a grand opening within the next 90 days.
