Sports
Open Adult Ping Pong at the Atlantic Center. Canceled due to voting through August 20th. Tuesdays from 9:00am-12:00pm and Thursdays from 4:30-7:00pm in the Atlantic Center Auditorium. All skill levels welcomed. Open recreation format; official ping pong serving and scoring rules shall be followed. Loaner paddles and ping pong balls provided. Open Adult Co-Ed Volleyball at Peck Gym. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-9:00pm. Informal team games on two courts. Teams selected each night. Ages 16 and up (ages 16 and 17 must have a Parental Consent form signed by parents and notarized before participating). $3 per night for City residents, $5 for non-City. Peck Gym floor is closed July 27-31 until 5pm each day for a private rental; the Fitness Room will still be open.

Open Basketball at Peck Gym, Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm (court closes for school and club practices as well as adult leagues throughout the year; see the Peck attendant or call 904-310-3354 for more details). Pickleball at Central Park Pickleball Courts. Six lighted courts are available. For scheduled play and open play times, visit the City of Fernandina Beach website.
Central Park Tennis Courts: Four lighted hard courts are available for open play. Courts 1 and 2 (closest to South 13th Street) are reserved for instructed play during posted hours.
Rod Gibson Tennis Services at Central Park Tennis Courts 1 and 2. Private lessons with the head professional are $60 per hour for City residents, $70 for non-City ($30 per 30 minutes City, $35 non-City). Lessons with professional staff are $50 per hour City, $60 non-City ($25 per 30 minutes City, $30 non-City). Semi-private lessons (2 players) with the head professional are $35 per hour City, $40 non-City; with staff, $30 per hour City, $35 non-City. Group lesson pricing scales down per player and is available for groups of 3 to 6 or more. Open Roller Hockey at the Main Beach Multi-Purpose Court. Adult and older teen skate: Tuesdays 5:00-6:00pm (beginner), Saturdays 4:15-4:45pm (easy) and 4:45-6:00pm (advanced). Family skate: Tuesdays 4:00-5:00pm and Saturdays 3:00-4:00pm. For more information, call Ray Matz at 215-852-7038.

Free weights, selectorized equipment, Matrix treadmills, Precor elliptical, Cybex Arc Trainer, Matrix recumbent and upright bikes, and a Kettler rower. Ages 13 and up (13-15 with adult supervision; 16-17 unsupervised with a signed parent/guardian waiver). Open Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm, with later hours Tuesday and Thursday during evening court sports.
Atlantic Fitness Room at the Atlantic Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue. Precor treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent and upright bikes; Concept 2 rower; Nautilus StairMaster Stepmill; Hammer Strength plate-loaded equipment; Magnum Fitness Biangular Series machines; and free weights. Ages 13 and up (13-15 with adult supervision; 16-17 unsupervised with a signed waiver). Daily and monthly fitness area fees: City residents $5 per day, $30 per month, $90 for four months. Non-City residents $10 per day, $38 per month, $113 for four months. Daily fees and passes are valid at both fitness areas. Couples’ rates and fitness/pool combination passes are also available; ask at the Atlantic Center.

Tiny Artist Toddler Arts & Crafts Program, for ages 3-4, a 12-week program building fine motor skills, creativity, confidence, and self-expression through weekly themes including animals, nature, oceans, storybooks, and seasonal art. Stevens Puppets present a free performance of Rumpelstiltskin, featuring hand-carved wooden marionettes and hand-painted scenery. Suitable for children and adults. Stevens Puppets was founded in 1933 by Peabody Award-winning puppeteer Martin Stevens.
Teen Programs/Activities
Teen Trip: Hamilton at the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts. For teens ages 13-17. Dec. 12, departing and returning from the Atlantic Recreation Center, 12:30-6:00pm. $90 per person, including transportation and show admission. Leisure Activities
Restaurant Rover Trips, new dining outings with transportation from the Atlantic Recreation Center to a local restaurant. $7 per person for transportation; meals paid individually. Flower Arranging Meet and Greet with That Flower Feeling, a nonprofit that rescues flowers from floral events, wholesalers, and florists and repurposes them into arrangements for the community. Friday, Aug. 21, 11:30am-1:30pm at the MLK Auditorium, followed by a potluck lunch. Flowers and vases provided; bring your own scissors. RSVP by Aug. 4 by scanning the QR code to register for the session and potluck. All ages welcome.
Broadway Series Trips, departing from and returning to the Atlantic Recreation Center with a dinner stop in River City. All trips leave at 4:00pm except Jersey Boys, which departs at 3:00pm. Trips must be paid in full; no refunds.

Instructed Programs
Japanese Ju Jitsu and Kenjutsu at the Peck Center, 1st Floor Instructors’ Studio, 516 South 10th Street. Ju Jitsu involves striking, kicking, throwing, and submission through joint locks and finishing techniques; Kenjutsu involves the katana and bokken. Both classes are for ages 12 and up. Ju Jitsu meets Tuesdays 7:30-8:30pm and Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm; $8 per class or $60 per month City residents, $10 per class or $75 per month non-City. Aerial Silk Dance Classes at the Atlantic Center, for ages 9 and up. Students learn movement, flow, and poses using suspended fabric strands, progressing through beginning, intermediate, and advanced skills with whole-body stretching and strength conditioning.
