When we launched Nassau NewsLine, we made a promise to this community: facts, not opinions. Nowhere does that promise matter more than in an election year.

Over the past several months, our team reached out to candidates on the ballot across Nassau County and Fernandina Beach. We asked each of them the same questions, gave each of them the same space to answer, and printed their responses in their own words. Where a candidate didn’t respond, we said so plainly. That’s what fair coverage looks like to us: not neutrality for its own sake, but consistency, so every voter can compare candidates on equal footing.
Putting together a guide like this takes real cooperation from the people running for office, many of whom answered our questions in the middle of packed campaign schedules, between community events and long workdays. We’re grateful for that. Local government runs on people willing to show up, and that willingness started well before Election Day, in the time these candidates gave us and, by extension, gave you.
The guide is ready for you at NassauNewsLine.com.
As Election Day approaches, we wish every candidate the best of luck. Running for public office is no small feat. It takes courage, dedication and a genuine desire to serve the people of this community. We commend each of them for stepping up to that challenge and for taking part in this critical democratic process.
In this spirit of community, we stand with you, our readers, and with every candidate on this ballot, wishing everyone a fair and informed election.
