Nassau County broke ground Oct. 5 on a new Nassau County Fire Rescue Station 30 at 86085 Still Quarters Road in Yulee. The 10,891-square-foot station, estimated to cost about $6 million, will replace the current station near Pages Dairy Road and U.S. 17.

The new station will have 11 sleeping quarters, four and a half bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living area and four apparatus bays. Wildlight LLC donated the nearly 4-acre site to the county, and ACON Construction Co. Inc. was selected to build it through a competitive bidding process.

Station 30 is the county’s fourth fire station project in recent years, following a new Station 10 and replacement facilities for Stations 70 and 90, which were completed over the past two fiscal years.
