Welcome to this edition of our weekly community update, designed to keep you informed about ongoing developments and initiatives throughout our city. This week’s report features highlights of recent progress, updates on municipal projects, and key announcements impacting our community. Providing transparency and engagement is both a privilege and a responsibility we take seriously. Projects/Operations
- The Ash Street stormwater project is nearly complete. Paving will occur over the weekend and finishing touches will occur throughout the first week of September.
- The Florida Department of Transportation has scheduled a town hall meeting to discuss the rehabilitation of Atlantic Avenue. The meeting will take place at the Atlantic Recreation Center on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The rehab project is scheduled to begin Oct. 5 and will take about nine months to complete.
- The downtown paid parking program is scheduled to end Nov. 18. A notice of termination has been issued to One Parking, which provides parking enforcement downtown.
- The city budget process is in full swing. A budget hearing will be held Sept. 3 to adopt the proposed tax millage rate and the tentative budget. Check the meeting calendar at fbfl.us for more details.

- Our Art in the Park series is back. Meet at the Teddy Bear Playground in Central Park on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. Free for children of all ages.
- Save the date for our second annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 1-4 p.m. (sensory hour from noon-1 p.m.) at the Atlantic Rec Center. Register in advance for the floating pumpkin patch by calling (904) 310-3350, ext. 1.
