The City of Fernandina Beach will end its downtown paid parking program following the results of the Aug. 18 special election, according to a recent release. The City Commission voted at its Aug. 19 meeting to terminate the city’s agreement with vendor One Parking as soon as contractually possible, the release said.
The city has notified One Parking that the program will terminate within 90 days under the terms of their agreement, according to the release. Nov. 18, 2026, will be the program’s final day; paid parking will continue to operate as it currently does until then.
Parking fees already collected are nonrefundable under city code, the release said, adding that the city will continue to share information about the transition as the Nov. 18 end date approaches.
The release also thanked One Parking for its partnership throughout the program’s implementation and operation, calling the vendor a professional and cooperative partner that worked with the city toward an orderly conclusion to the agreement.
“We appreciate the professionalism and partnership One Parking has demonstrated throughout this process,” City Manager Sarah Campbell said in the release. “While the program will be ending, we are grateful for their willingness to work with the city and honor the terms of our agreement as we move forward.”
The city thanked residents for their participation in the election and said in the release that it will keep the community informed as the paid parking program winds down.
